Women to Women International

We have an exciting announcement!

Feeling blessed by the opportunity we have had with Sew Sweet Patterns in helping so many women (and a few men) to sew clothes for their children or grandchildren, we have been looking for the right organization to partner with.

We are pleased to announce that we will be donating a percentage of our profits to Women for Women International.

Women for Women helps women survivors of war rebuild their lives. This organization allows us to specifically donate towards providing sewing kits and sewing machines to women from the Congo, Sudan, Rwanda, Afghanistan, Bosnia and others, enabling them to provide for their families in a practical way.

This is a perfect fit for Sew Sweet Patterns, don't you think?

We hope that you will take a minute to learn more about this wonderful organization and all that they do for women around the world.

Knotty Tots Giveaway!

We love Etsy.
It has given us a place to start and grow our little pattern business.    We love that is gives stay-at-home moms {and grandmas} the chance to bring in a little money without a huge investment.  Although we have our own quickly growing website now, Etsy is still our bread &  butter these days.

So we thought we would take Mondays to showcase other Etsy shops run by moms that we have found and loved.   Because you are all great sewers by now, we will mainly feature items that can complement some of your new sewing creations.  Some will be finished products and others will be other great tutorials we have discovered.

To kick it off we are starting with...

The Knotty Tots legwarmers were one of the first things I ever "favorited" on Etsy.  I just needed an excuse to buy them.

Finally, this year I decided that Harper "needed" them for our family photos.

Knotty Tots also has the most adorable hats,

 headbands,

and baby barefoot sandals,

And now even sells the patterns for her hats and legwarmers!

Candance at Knotty Tots is giving away $25 credit to the shop to the lucky winner!!!!  Can you believe that!

So check out the Knotty Tots Etsy shop, Blog and Facebook page.
Become a fan of the Facebook Page or follow her blog.  Come back here and leave a message telling us what you would pick if you win!

And as usual, you must be a public follower of this blog to enter the giveaway!

Giveaway will end Thursday, May 3rd at 12am PST.
Winner will be announced Friday morning!

Pattern of the Week

We are a little behind this week, but for a good reason...

We are trying to finish up SIX new patterns!
They should all be hitting the shop in the next week or so!

But for now, here is week #3 of our pattern for the week -

The Janey Dress!
This is a sweet & simple pheasant style dress that can be finished in an afternoon.  We love using contrasting fabric for the sleeves and will soon be adding directions for a border on the bottom.  You can also get the matching Janey Doll Dress pattern that fits a 15" to 18" doll.  This pattern comes in a total of 7 child sizes (6/9 months, 12/18 months, 2T, 3T, 4, 5 & 6) and really is a great pattern for beginners to start with.

So just like the last few weeks,
The Janey Dress pattern will be $1 off on the website only.

So head on over and check out The Janey Dress
and stay tuned for all of our NEW patterns!

Pattern of the Week.

Is it Monday again, already?

Thanks to all of you who took advantage of our first pattern of the week sale. Hopefully you are all enjoying the Kate Dress pattern!

This week's pattern is The Tatum Dress.

The Tatum Dress is a great pattern for beginners who are ready for a little more than the pillowcase dress! It has casings along the neckline so there are no buttons, zippers or plackets needed. The sweet little sleeve adds a bit of extra frill. The tie is optional and is adorable when done in a contrasting fabric.

So just like last week, the Tatum pattern will be on sale on the website.

Pattern of the Week

We are debuting a new feature for the blog today!

Our Pattern of the Week!

Each week we will feature a pattern in our shop
and for that week this pattern will on sale.

For those of you who blog, you will be given a chance to win a free pattern. If you have completed the pattern of the week, you can blog about that pattern and link up to our "Pattern of the Week" post. At the end of the week all those who linked up will be entered into a drawing for a free pattern.

This week we are starting with the Kate Dress pattern.

Kate was in our first bunch of 5 patterns that we ever sold and is named after my adorable niece, Kate Lauren, who is almost three years old.  It comes in sizes 6/9 months up to size 6.  We love the simplicity of the cut, the fit of the bodice and that it looks much harder than it is!

And don't forget that it is also available in a child & doll pattern set.

The Kate Dress pattern and Kate Dress Child & Doll
pattern set will be on sale all week on our website!
